Hi gang...
Welcome back to another brain dump of the Fantasy Football variety. I'm stinging from some bad losses last week with my fantasy teams. In one league I managed to lose to the one guy who hadn't won yet all year. Oh well, streaks have to come to an end at some point, right?
Here's a few thoughts for this week.
* While I'm not going to tell you that Kyle Orton is going to save your team for the rest of the season, let's face it--the guy is getting things done. He's racking up yards and touchdowns. His opponent this week is Atlanta and they aren't going to be able to stop him either. If you need a good BYE week replacement, go grab him.
* I was really high on T.J. Houshmandzadeh this week, until I found out that Carson Palmer won't be playing. In that case, I'm not sure I can go with him this weekend. But, I am sure of this. They will be losing. And they will need to pass. He's a high-risk play, but he might have some big pay off. And be sure to keep Chad "I can't break 60 yards in a game" Johnson on your bench. Do not start him under any circumstances.
* Speaking of the Bengals, they face the Jets this week which means I love Brett Favre (which is always the case with me) and Dustin Keller. Keller doesn't get a ton of looks in a game, but Favre favors the tight end position around the goal line so Keller could be in for his third straight game with a touchdown.
* If you listened to me and started Felix Jones last week, then keep riding that horse until he bucks you. If you didn't listen to me, well, time to start.
* For the love of Pete, keep an eye on the injury reports on Sunday morning, or listen to my radio show. Crazy things have been happening last minute this year, with teams keeping their reports more secret than the Russian launch codes. That was the case last week with Matt Schaub. So far this week, we already know about Palmer (above), Tony Scheffler, and Brian Westbrook. Frankly, I'm shocked they shared all that with us this early in the week.
* Don't expect Jeremy Shockey to play this weekend, but I do think that Marques Colston will get some time on the field. I'm not saying the Saints will throw him the ball 12 times. However, we should see him get some playing time. Keep an eye on what people are saying, especially the Saints bloggers, up to game time before you pop him into your line-up.
* Keep praying for Joseph Addai to get the ball on the goal line, because he isn't doing anything for you with yardage. He's got Baltimore this week. I know you can't sit him, but at least temper your expectations.
* Sleeper for the week: Brandon Stokely. Scheffler is hurt and Eddie Royal is banged-up too. That leaves Stokely as the number 2 receiver behind Brandon Marshall so there may be some numbers there.
Good luck this week!

When he's not complaining about his own Fantasy Football team, he's probably complaining that there's no coffee in the breakroom. The guy complains a lot.
