Shotgun 5WR Slot Quick Flats

We like to beat bump n run man coverage by coming out in Shotgun 5WR formations. Look for players where the slot receiver two receiver sides runs flat route. With some added motion, he won't be jammed at the line of scrimmage.

The only pre-snap adjustment we make is to hot route the SE (X) to pass block. We do this so that the LCB won't switch with the inside defensive back covering the slot receiver.

We take control of the slot receiver and ...

... motion to the right. He now lines up next to the LT.

Once the ball is snapped, he will run towards the flat. Notice the defender covering him will pause for a split second.

The SE will bring the RCB inside with him since he is pass blocking.

By the time the defender covering the slot receiver reacts, the ball is thrown.

We make the catch in the flat and have plenty of room to run the ball.
