EA SPORTS World Community Member Spotlight: P403N1XRIS3N

This week's EA SPORTS Featured Profile is P403N1XRIS3N, who is one of our community leaders. I had the pleasure of meeting P403N1XRIS3N back at our Fight Night Round 4 community day and he has immense knowledge of sports in general. P403N1XRIS3N is a huge Michigan sports fan with the exception of the NFL where he is a fan of the Oakland Raiders.

1. What is your first name? Rob


2. Where do you live? Small town about an hour West of Ottawa called Renfrew Ontario


3. Where did you grow up? Small town about 2 hours West of Ottawa called Deep River Ontario

4. How old are you? 36


5. How long have you been a gamer? Since my Parents got me my first Vic 20. Soon after, I upgraded to Commodore 64 then Atari 2600 ;)  so I guess you could say for over 30 years


6. What is the first video game you were ever hooked on? The first game that hooked me was actually Castlevania on the old NES, other games were great but never held my interest like Castlevania.


7. What was your first game console? First console was the Atari 2600 , but the first one I bought with my own money was the good old Sega Genesis.


8. What console do you play on most now? Xbox 360 hands down


9. What's the story behind your EA ID/Gamertag? It's a long one but basically the Phoenix has always been associated with a regeneration, when Pixelslash Jujimum Gandalf and I created our site, I figured it was time to shed the old GT and "Regenerate"  Phoenix is my handle on the site and since it was taken on XBL I went with P403N1XRIS3N.


10. How often do you visit EA SPORTS World? I am on EASW constantly, the only time I am off is when my session expires or I am asleep.


11. What do you rank as your favorite game right now? NHL 09, can't get enough of that.


12. What's the best video game of all-time? Why? Castlevania Symphony of the Night, I have NEVER come across a deeper game in my life.  Just when you think you are done you realize you are only half way through!!  I was very excited to see it released on XBL Arcade as a download and I still play it to this day


13. What's the most underrated video game? Why? NCAA Basketball 09. I am not trying to be partial at all, but the game itself is as true to Basketball roots as you can get for the College level and I don't think people really gave it a fair shake. 


14. What's your best video game story? (e.g. Playing someone famous, beating a friend 100-7 in Madden, etc) I have quite a few, always play by the motto " when you lose say little and when you win say less "  I have been playing a solid core of guys for quite some time but I think my fiercest rivalry is with MGM, total I think we have played over 150 games head to head and if I am not mistaken the series is 75 - 75 and that spans Madden /NHL / NCAA and even baseball!


15. Beyond the games, what's your favorite sport(s)? Hockey 


16. Who's your favorite athlete of all-time? Steve Yzerman the personification of class that transcends sport.


17. What is your favorite Pro Team? Do you play as them? Detroit Red Wings and yes I have a Dynasty going with them , online in a league using Phoenix Coyotes ;)


18. What is your favorite College team? Do you play as them? Michigan Wolverines. I play offline as them and currently play as the University of Georgia Bulldogs in the online Dynasty at xbox-sports


19. When do you play? Does anyone in your family give you a hard time? I usually play after 9:00pm since that is when the wee ones are in bed and a lot of my buddies are night hawks so it works out well


20. Have you ever suffered a video game injury? No I usually adhere to all safety guidelines that are printed in the opening pages of the manual ;)


21. What are your top three favorite non EA games? Assassins Creed / Call of Duty 4 / Rainbow Six


22. Do you play fantasy sports? Which one(s)? NHL with a couple of my friends. I am going to get into NFL next season since I waited too long to get into this season!


23. Did you play sports in school? Which ones and what position? Were you any good? Football as a CB and Soccer as a Left Full Back. I played each game to the best of my ability and had fun win or lose.


24. Which EA SPORTS title do you think you are best at? What tip or trick could you recommend to players? Of my collection I think I am best at NHL and have invested a lot of time learning the controls for the dekes and different shots. I am learning some tricks in Madden though since following Kobra's Corner ;) Always a good idea to keep on practicing and play with friends you have built an online trust with, that makes you a better gamer and allows you to fully enjoy the game and experience.
