The Lowdown

Just like the actual Pittsburgh Penguins team, the Penguins group page  has seen its ups and downs over the last year and a half, but it is on the rise again. Take a look around EA SPORTS World and you will quickly notice that many of the NHL 09 videos uploaded to the site feature the young stars like Crosby and Malkin of the Penguins. As the Penguins try to make a final playoff run, be on the lookout for even more Penguins videos.

Team History

The Pittsburgh Penguins have a rich hockey history dominated by stars like Syndey Crosby and Jaromir Jagr with none being bigger than the face of the franchise Super Mario Lemieux.  Super Mario led the franchise to its only two Stanley Cup Championships in 1991 & 1992. The recent run of the team during the Crosby and Malkin era has been an exciting one. Last year, in only their third year playing together, the duo led the Penguins to the Stanley Cup Finals where they lost to the Detroit Red Wings in 6 games. Despite the disappointing loss, the team finished the 2008 playoffs with an impressive 14-6 record.

Our challenge to the Penguins fans out there: Continue to be active on the site and publish all of your latest videos and blogs relating to your Pittsburgh Penguins to the Penguins group page. This can be done by choosing the Penguins under the "Publish to Group" option next to your videos or right under your blogs when you are creating them. We want to use this as a one stop place for community members to go to see the best the Penguins fans have to offer on EA SPORTS World. This challenge goes out to all groups out there. We want to see who can be the group that has the most members posting videos and blogs to and interacting on their team's page on a daily basis. Is it going to be the Penguins fans or someone else?
