Kobra's Corner Madden NFL 09: Enhanced Gun HB Screen

I have had few ways to enhance screen plays sent into me over the last few weeks. This week I decided to go ahead and show them in Kobra's Corner. This HB Screen is out of the Gun and I really like the results I have had using it online. A special thanks to Dual Blitz for sending it in to me.
For this example we come out in the Gun Split Back Slot. Keep in mind you can run this enhanced HB screen from most of the gun formations in the game.
Hot route the HB2 (LB) on a drag. We do this to gives us another blocker.
Hot route the FL (B) on a curl. We do this give a rocket curl option if for some reason the screen doesn't look like it's going to work.
We slide protect to right side. We do this because we are going to roll our QB to the right once the ball is snapped.
Next we take control of the HB and ...
... motion him to the right.
Once he gets behind the center, we snap the ball.
We roll the QB out to the right side.
The HB will be right behind the pulling offensive linemen.
The HB will set up right behind the two pulling offensive linemen. The HB2 will go further outside of the HB because he is running a pass route.
As soon as the HB makes the catch, the HB2 will become a blocker. This gives us three blockers out front.
We follow our blocks and ...
... head up the field to pick up positive yardage.
One thing to watch out for is sometimes the DE on the side the screen is being ran to will go out to defend the screen. If this happens, there is a chance he will be position to blow the screen play up. If this happens, look to throw to the FL running the curl.
Final Thoughts
I know some of you are wondering why we motion the HB and then snap it behind the center. Well the reason is because it's puts the HB behind the offensive linemen. If you were to run this screen by the plays default design, the HB would set up further outside of the offensive linemen. By using motion, he lines up behind the offensive linemen, giving the screen a better chance of success. Once against, thanks Dual Blitz for sending this screen play in. I really like this one and have used it online myself with success.
