Kobra's Corner: Disguising Gun Doubles FL Screen

February 27, 2009

By Paul "Kobra" Gleason

Don't forget to check out this week's video on the here on the Madden NFL landing page.

In this week's edition of Kobra's Corner, I want to take a look at disguising the Gun Doubles FL Screen. It's pretty simple, but an effective way to keep your opponent from knowing when the FL Screen is coming.

The first thing you want to do is set the Gun Doubles FL as an audible. For this write up, we set it as our A Audible.

Come out in any Shotgun Spread play.

For this write up, we come out in the Gun Spread Curl Flats.

Next, we want to take control of the WR4, who is lined up in the slot on the right of the screen.

Now we want to audible into the Gun Doubles FL Screen while at the same time pressing right on the D Pad or left stick. This will prevent the WR4 from moving inside. We are now in the Gun Double FL Screen, but to our opponent we are in the Gun Spread.

Run the FL Screen like you would any other time.

Follow your blocks and pick up positive yardage.

Final Thoughts

Not only does this work with the Gun Doubles FL Screen, but you can also create new formations on the fly with this tactic. Next week in Kobra's Corner I will show everyone how to create a new formation on the fly using this same concept.
