March 11, 2009 By Paul "Kobra" Gleason Don't forget to check out this week's video on the
here on the Madden NFL landing page.
I recently received a blitz from Dexter Harper that I wanted to share in this week's Kobra's Corner. The name of the blitz is the 3-4 Stack SS Snake 3 Stay. What I like about this blitz is it's pretty easy to set up and gets the SS involved in racking up the sacks.

The 3-4 Stack SS Snake 3 Stay provides not only solid pressure on the QB, but also has solid pass coverage. Notice there are 3 defenders playing 3 deep coverage, 2 defenders playing buzz zones, and 1 defender in a hook zone.

To set the blitz up, shift the defensive line to the right (as you look at the screen).

Next take control of the LOLB and stack him front of the TE.

Switch to the SS and ...

... and move him behind the LOLB and off to the right side. (See the image above for placement)

The SS's blitz angle will now be shooting through the B gap between the RG and RT.

We switch off to the FS to defend against the deep pass.

Once the ball is snapped, the NT will occupy the RG and the LE will occupy the RT.

This will allow the SS to get pressure on the QB. If you look at the screen shot, notice the FB is blocking to the left side and has no chance to pick up the blitzing SS.

As mentioned before the pass coverage is pretty tight.

The QB is sacked for a loss by the SS.
Final Thoughts I want to say thanks to Dexter for sending me this blitz. It's pretty effective and provides solid pass coverage all over the field. Be sure to check out the video to see if the blitz works against Shotgun formations as well.
