What a night of racing we had guys. As the night got under way, I faced off with community member Solvalis, at Daytona, in a head to head racing match along with several computer controlled cars. I never had a chance in the race, but Solvalis was in it until the end when a late crash sent him to the back and he ended up finishing 8th.
Once the rest of the races began, they were full of EA guys and several guys from the community. We decided to start a string of races that would include the following raceways: Daytona, Talladega, Michigan, Martinsville, and finally back to Talladega. All of these races were competitive, but I did not even come close to winning a single race. Raczilla took the Daytona race in a close battle with Solvalis. Solvalis would then turn the tide on Raczilla at Talladega giving him a two wins to one edge going into the fourth race of the evening at Michigan.
The race at Michigan began the streak of victories for the EA guys not named Dewiel as EAcrazylegs won the race at Michigan and then stole the race at Martinsville from Solvalis. For those of you who missed it, Crazylegs has now earned the nickname “Crazywheels” solely based on his performance at Martinsville. For more details, ask Solvalis. Raczilla would then take the next race at Talladega to tie him with Crazylegs for the most wins on the night. Did I mention that my highest finish in a race was 8th?
For those of you who made it on for the races last night, I had a great time racing even though you guys pounded me into the ground. I know that my driving skills are not up to par to compete with you guys, but I will be back next week with a whole new racing strategy and a desire to win. Considering we raced against some of the guys from last year’s NASCAR Challenge, I was just happy that I did not get lapped.
If you did not make it on this week and would like to get in on the action, all you have to do is send me a friend request on XBOX Live or PSN and let me know that you want to race. Next week’s races will begin at 7pm EST.
In the meantime, I am going to be putting in some serious practice hours with NASCAR 09, so if anyone sees me online and would like to get some races in, just send me a message. I’m also looking for some tips on becoming a better driver in NASCAR 09, so any help you guys can give me would be great. My biggest decision this year has been to only race using the camera angle from within the car where I can see my steering wheel. Is this something that you guys think I should change or just give myself some time to get used to? Also, next week I am going to be using a current NASCAR driver for the entire racing night and would like to know who you guys think I should go with?
See you guys on the track this Wednesday!
-Dewiel
