NBA LIVE Challenge Update

Welcome to the 2009 NBA Live Challenge bought to you by the folks here at EA SPORTS. This year's NBA Live Challenge returns in search of the best NBA Live gamers around the country.  We will travel to 11 regional stops as one finalist from each city will travel to NBA ALL-STAR weekend in Phoenix, AZ for a chance at $20,000 cash and a $5,000 shopping spree with our official retail sponsor Best Buy.

While some role with a crew, Anthony Caruso, otherwise known, as "Boy Wonder" prefers to get the job done on his own.  There is no dynamic duo here as the one man wrecking crew took care of business in Boston by knocking out, Cali-King in the regional championship by a score of 74-59.  "Boy Wondered" everyone in attendance by scoring an average of 18.5 points per quarter with his LA Lakers. 



The mature aspect was evident as the Syracuse, New York product conducted himself in a very calm, cool, and collected fashion.  Speaking of fashion, did I mention that he rocked his Yankee hat in Boston?

Boy Wonder shared a few thoughts with me afterwards:

Commish: Fax me your resume real quick.  I need some intel on you...

Boy Wonder: "Well most don't know me but I go by the name "The Boy Wonder" online and I'm relatively new to the tournament scene."

Commish: What are you early thoughts about live competition?

Boy Wonder: "There was a lot of tough competition here today.  I'm just glad I got through it all. Outside of playing my boys at home and competing online, I haven't appeared much.  This has been a good experience for me.  I can only imagine what NBA ALL-STAR Weekend is going to be like, I'm already looking forward to it."

Commish: NBA ALL-STAR Weekend is going to be nuts! Are you up for the challenge?

Boy Wonder: "I know that there is not going to be any cake-walks but I'm ready, I put in a lot of work.  It means a lot to me to make it there because I put in plenty of hours with my boys every day and night on the game.  In addition to having a few arguments with my girlfriend because I've been playing so much NBA Live online to get better."

Commish: How do you plan to make it up to your lady if you happen to win $25,000?

Boy Wonder: "I'll start off by spoiling her a little by having one heck of a Valentine's Day.  I'll also probably put a nice down payment on a house after that."

Commish: It must be nice to get into a new house by playing EA Sports NBA Live.  Are you an actual NBA fan or do you just play the game?

Boy Wonder: "Oh, I'm a huge fan of the NBA.  Understanding the game helps me to be a better NBA Live player because the video game is so closely related to the real game."

Commish: Who is your favorite current NBA player that you would give anything to meet?

Boy Wonder: "LeBron James! He is the best and could be the greatest player ever in my opinion."

Commish: You do understand that you're going to NBA ALL-STAR Weekend, and you do know that LeBron will be in attendance right?  You never know who will stop by the EA Sports NBA Live Challenge championship event.  You just might get that opportunity.

Boy Wonder: "That would be absolutely awesome; you guys may have to make a call to him for me!"
